DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Cases of domestic violence are escalating in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. Victims of domestic violence who are staying home to prevent spreading the virus may experience increased violent abuse and have trouble reporting this abuse. Financial concerns, such as economic instability, and a spike in unemployment numbers can also increase incidents of domestic violence. People concerned with COVID-19 and how their abusive partner is leveraging COVID-19 to further isolate, coerce, or increase fear in the relationship have options and resources that can help. If you, or someone you know, is in danger of domestic violence, you can access support and services like shelter, counseling, and legal guidance.
